Women’s Fund Hosts 2026 SHEros Event
Celebrating Local SHEros
The Women’s Fund’s SHEros event brought together community leaders, supporters, and advocates for an inspiring celebration of the women who are making a difference throughout our region. The evening highlighted the power of leadership, philanthropy, and collective action while honoring individuals whose dedication continues to strengthen our community’s women, children, and families.
A special highlight of the evening was a presentation from Brittany Boulton, Managing Director of Advocacy & Engagement at Groundwork Ohio. Boulton shared insights from her work advancing policies and initiatives that support children and families across Ohio, emphasizing the importance of creating opportunities that help women, children, and communities thrive. Her message underscored the connection between advocacy, community engagement, and long-term prosperity for families.
The event also honored two outstanding recipients of the Women’s Fund’s 2026 SHEro Awards. LaTanisha Walker-White received the Lorain County Woman of Impact Award in recognition of her leadership and contributions to the community. The Friends/Supporters of the Women’s Fund Award was presented to Italian American Veterans Post #1 Charities for their ongoing commitment to supporting the mission and work of the Women’s Fund.
In addition to recognizing this year’s honorees, the Women’s Fund celebrated its 2026 scholarship recipients and shared updates on its initiatives that continue to expand opportunities for women and families throughout the region. The evening served as a powerful reminder of what can be accomplished when a community comes together to invest in the success and well-being of women and girls.
