Welcome, Colleen!
We are thrilled to introduce Colleen Walts, our newest team member as Development Officer at the Community Foundation. Colleen brings extensive experience in fundraising and community engagement, and we are excited to have her with us.
Here’s a little more about Colleen in her own words:
1. How has your prior work experience prepared you for this role?
“My experience in leading fundraising efforts and building strong donor relationships has prepared me to manage major gift and planned giving programs here at the Community Foundation. In my prior work, I’ve developed meaningful relationships with community members and created strategies to strengthen connections with donors and businesses.”
2. How can people engage with you? When are you a good resource for the community?
“Folks can engage with me by reaching out for advice or support with their philanthropic efforts and collaboration on community initiatives. I am a great resource for connecting with community members, developing philanthropic goals, and guiding partnerships with local organizations and businesses.”
3. What are you most excited about working with the Community Foundation?
“I’m most excited about the opportunity to help strengthen the community by building meaningful relationships with donors, nonprofits, and businesses. I look forward to contributing to the Community Foundation’s growth and supporting initiatives that create lasting impact in Lorain County.”
4. Share something you love about Lorain County.
“I love Lorain County for its strong sense of community. Originally from Columbus, Ohio, I’ve been fortunate to live in several states and experience different communities. I moved to Lorain in August 2021 to raise my family, and I truly feel that Lorain County offers a unique, welcoming environment. It’s a great place to work, live, and play, and I feel fortunate to be a part of it.”
