2023 July CEO Blog
Summer is in full swing, and I want to thank so many of you for joining us on the first day of the season at our Annual Meeting. What a fabulous celebration of the people, places, and organizations that make Lorain County such a special place to live, work, and play. And special thanks to the Kendal at Oberlin community for hosting. In case you missed the meeting, a recording and all the great photos are available on our website, peoplewhocare.org.
Summertime here at the Community Foundation means we are busy preparing for Connect to a Cause, which is just two short months away. Our excitement about this year’s event is palpable as we are expecting to hit the $1M mark this year! We are grateful for everyone who has helped us take this grassroots event that began during the pandemic to a true collaboration between the philanthropic, non-profit, and business community. You don’t have to wait until September to learn about the 94 non-profits participating in Connect to a Cause, or the over 700 funds at the Community Foundation. You can check out all this information right on our website. Take some time to get to know the critical work of the non-profits across our community and help us spread the word in advance of Connect to a Cause.
And I would be remiss to be talking about summertime and not mention that July is National Ice Cream Month and National Ice Cream Day on July 16th? Do you have a favorite ice cream flavor? Dairy Queen or Romps? What a great excuse to get a scoop at one of the many excellent ice cream shops in Lorain County and enjoy it at one of our beautiful local parks. Let us know so we can share on social media with a photo.
Have a great summer. Look forward to seeing you in the ice cream line.
Be well,
Cindy
