The Community Foundation of Lorain County is honored to serve at the center of your giving. Whether you’ve established a fund here, arranged a bequest to a fund or to the Community Foundation itself, or something in between, we are here to help you make your giving easy. Charitable giving is important locally, nationally, and internationally. According to the World Giving Index 2024 Global Trends in Generosity , 4.3 billion people worldwide helped someone they didn’t know, volunteered time, or donated money to a good cause in the past month. By donating during our 2024 Connect to a Cause, you became part of this global movement of generosity—and you’ll be counted among these figures for 2025!
We hope your participation in Connect to a Cause made you feel good! It’s no surprise that research shows that giving to others actually puts donors in a good mood. Studies highlight three key reasons:

We have experienced this ourselves. For example, many of us enjoy picking out a gift for a friend or family member and watching them open it. The same feeling applies when we give to causes like those in Connect to a Cause—knowing we are making a difference right here in our community!

The Community Foundation makes it easy to give cash, stock, or other assets to a type of fund that best fits your goal- whether that’s a donor-advised fund, designated fund, field-of-interest fund, or unrestricted endowment fund. For example, when you initiate a stock transfer, the Community Foundation makes it easy. You immediately know you have taken a meaningful action.
–Offers choices. The Community Foundation is flexible to meet your charitable giving goals. We can help you set up an annual giving strategy, establish a bequest to your fund in your estate plan, and everything in between.
