Community Foundation of Lorain County Empowers Education and Youth Development with $560K in Grant Awards
Lorain County, OH – August 10, 2023 – The Community Foundation of Lorain County is delighted to announce the successful completion of its Education and Youth Development Cycle, awarding over $560K in grant awards to 26 non-profit organizations. These grants will play a crucial role in enhancing educational opportunities and youth development initiatives, benefiting countless young individuals within the Lorain County community.
The Education and Youth Development Cycle showcases the Community Foundation’s ongoing commitment to fostering academic excellence, nurturing talent, and empowering the youth to realize their full potential. By supporting these remarkable organizations, the Foundation aims to create a positive and lasting impact on the lives of young individuals, shaping a brighter future for generations to come.

Among the grant recipients, the ACES Program: Achievement through Community Education and Support has been awarded a significant grant of $50K. This program stands at the forefront of empowering students through community engagement and support, fostering a nurturing environment for academic growth.
The Community Foundation of Lorain County welcomes Writers in Residence as a new Education and Youth Development Cycle grantee. This organization pairs college students, including those from Oberlin College, with youth in the juvenile justice system, providing them with a unique opportunity to express themselves and find healing through the art of writing. Through this transformative mentorship, Writers in Residence seeks to empower young individuals in detention centers and inspire positive change within the community.
