“Real generosity toward the future lies in giving all to the present.”
– Albert Camus
As the holiday season fills our hearts with gratitude and joy, it also reminds us of the special power giving has to uplift our community. More than any other time of year, the holidays show us the benefits of giving – not only for those who receive, but also on those who give. Generosity is a path toward personal growth and fulfillment, and this season allows us many opportunities to experience this.
At the Community Foundation of Lorain County, we celebrate this time of year as an opportunity to reflect on the positive impact we have made together and to look ahead with hope. End-of-year giving is vital in strengthening our programs and supporting local organizations that create meaningful change. And it is not too late to contribute to one (or more) of the 95 Connect to a Cause non-profits. Whether donating to one of our funds or a gift to honor someone special, your generosity ensures that we can continue building a thriving and inclusive Lorain County for all. Join us in making the season brighter—your support today plants seeds of growth for tomorrow!
As we look ahead to 2025, please share with the young people in your life that the 2025 Scholarship Application opens on January 1st with updated forms. All applicants must complete the Universal Application designed to automatically match their skills and financial needs with specific criteria for each potential scholarship. This streamlines the process, eliminating the need for multiple submissions. You can also participate in the scholarship process by volunteering as a scholarship evaluator. If you are interested in participating, email us at scholarships@peoplewhocare.org or call 440.984.7390.
Please note that our office will be open on December 23rd , 24th , 30th and 31st.
From all of us at the Community Foundation of Lorain County, we wish you and your loved ones a season filled with peace, love, and happiness. Here’s to a bright and hopeful New Year ahead!
With gratitude,
Cindy
