Dear Friends of Community Foundation of Lorain County,
Community is the priority at the Community Foundation. The health and safety of our community members, employees, families, and friends form the lens through which we have always viewed our practice over the last 40 years.
With the continuing COVID-19 pandemic, we want to share with you the steps we are taking to play our part in limiting the spread of the virus, as well as inform you of some changes in how we’ll be doing business.
Effective Monday, March 23, 2020, our office will be closed, and our staff will begin working remotely.
All meetings will be conducted over the phone or via video/web conferencing. If you are scheduled to meet with any staff at our office in the near future, whether it’s a one-on-one meeting or a committee or scholarship meeting, a staff member will contact you soon to develop an alternative plan.
If you wish to make a donation to a fund, please utilize our online giving platform or mail the contribution to:
Community Foundation of Lorain County
9080 Leavitt Rd.
Elyria, OH 44035
(Please make sure to indicate the fund name in the memo line of your check.)
Although it’s not “business as usual,” our hope is to continue doing business seamlessly. That means we will be processing gifts and grants, taking phone calls, answering emails, and ensuring that our mission of Connecting People Who Care with Causes That Matter is fulfilled.
During this challenging time, we lift our non-profit partners. We acknowledge the people and organizations working on the front lines of the outbreak. Many local non-profits have had to cancel fundraising events that provide funding for their annual operations. Additionally, we know that many non-profits will begin seeing a dramatic increase in demand for their services, as our most vulnerable populations begin to feel the impact of this situation. If you are interested in specific recommendations on how you can help, please contact our Development Officer, Susan Poole, or our Senior Program Officer, Linda Styer.
Philanthropy – and the Community Foundation – will play a significant role in the upcoming months. We are currently determining how we can work to support our community as we face this emergency. We will share more with you soon.
We will provide additional updates as they occur. And please, if you have a question or concern, don’t hesitate to call us at 440.984.7390.
Please stay safe. And thanks for all you do to support our community. Together we will get through this!
