Connect to a Cause Raises $459,026 for Local Nonprofits

The Community Foundation of Lorain County (Community Foundation) announced today that its 6th annual Connect to a Cause event raised $459,026 in support of 106 local nonprofits through the coordinated, 12-hour fundraiser.

“The Community Foundation is thrilled with the incredible fundraising results of Connect to a Cause,” said Cynthia H. Andrews, president and CEO of the Community Foundation. “However, we are not surprised. Lorain County is a giving community—from neighbors helping neighbors, to our business champions, to the nonprofits serving our community daily—we were confident that the community would once again rise to the occasion to support causes that matter.”

This year’s event saw 1,103 individuals from 21 states contribute to participating nonprofits. The average gift was $153, with 100% of every donation going directly to the nonprofit. In addition, 26 local businesses joined as Connect to a Cause Business Champions, contributing $60,000 in support.

Since its launch in 2020, Connect to a Cause has raised more than $1.9 million for hundreds of nonprofits across Lorain County.
