A Community Full of PEOPLE Who Care!
By Cindy Andrews
I hope you and your family are safe and well.
Daily we are reminded of our mission, Connecting People Who Care with Causes that Matter. As we support our extended non-profit community, we are reminded of the daily challenges so many of our community members and organizations face on the front lines of this pandemic and crisis.
We hope you will join us in that support. Connect to a Cause was designed to celebrate our 40th anniversary serving this community that we call home. But it has provided so much more, as over fifty non-profits have come forward with their interest in coming together to raise funds on a single day of giving in Lorain County on Thursday, September 17th.
Where will you be on that day, or how do you learn more about Connect to a Cause? Check-in with your favorite non-profit or search on those participating non-profits in your community via our web site peoplewhocare.org or support those organizations who are also passionate about Causes that Matter to you.
Follow us on Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, or Instagram and share with your network the excitement that is building in Lorain County. Through Connect to a Cause, we have one small way to thank so many organizations for all the work they have done to support so many individuals and families who have been the most impacted by this crisis.
What started as a day of endowment has evolved into a day of supporting our non-profits directly. But in honor of our 40th anniversary, our Board of Directors is still committed to distributing an additional $40,000 that day in honor of so many members of our community building and lifting others.
I met with members of our Youth Fund this past Sunday afternoon, via Zoom, yes, their choice of meeting dates and times. And the students talked about service-learning projects and how best to support their teachers as they work to keep themselves, their families, and their students safe and healthy.
Let’s honor and share in their resiliency ….
Resilience: “an ability to recover from or adjust easily to misfortune or change.”– Merriam-Webster Dictionary
Please help us celebrate our vision of a thriving Lorain County through Philanthropy. As we have reviewed the letters in our Philanthropy Book, the letter H suggests You make My Heart Smile!
How best do we collectively support Lorain County…Connect to a Cause!
