“The Olympics are a wonderful metaphor for world cooperation, the kind of international competition that’s wholesome and healthy, an interplay between countries that represents the best in all of us.”
-John Williams
Is anyone else suffering from withdrawal from the joy of cheering on Team USA during the Summer Olympics? What a fantastic celebration of elite athleticism, sportsmanship, and friendship. Memorable moments were abundant during the games, allowing us to collectively be in awe of the diversity of athletes and cultures on display. The Olympics allows us to witness the best in all of us on full display. We all have something to offer and something to give.
We have the opportunity to lift each other up right here in Lorain County. Join your neighbors for an upcoming Neighbor Nights. Have you checked out VolunteerConnect? Developed by the Community Foundation, Leadership Lorain County, and LorainCounty.com, this platform is a central hub for connecting volunteers with the non-profit community. Lorain County is full of people who care about their neighbors, which is one more way to connect people with causes that matter.
Our annual Connect to a Cause campaign is just around the corner on September 19th, from 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM. In the lead-up to this exciting event, you can show your support by cheering for your favorite Lorain County non-profit. If you own a business and have not yet participated, it is not too late to become a Business Champion! This year, we are proud to support 95 participating non-profits that make a difference in our community. Your generosity has been key to our success, helping us raise over $1M for important causes.
Let’s commit to working together to make Connect to a Cause 2024 an unforgettable day of giving and community spirit.
With gratitude,
Cindy
