2026-27 Youth Fund Orientation

Sunday, August 23, 2:00 to 4:00 PM at the Community Foundation of Lorain County – Join the Youth Fund for the 2026-2027 Season!

The Youth Fund is an advisory board of the Community Foundation of Lorain County created to amplify youth voices and empower students to create local change. Since 1998, high school students from across Lorain County have come together to learn about philanthropy, advocate for causes they care about, and recommend grants that make a real impact in their communities.

Students in grades 9-12 have the opportunity to collaborate with peers from different schools, gain hands-on experience in leadership and decision-making, participate in volunteer and fundraising efforts, and earn community service hours that count toward graduation requirements.

As a member of the Youth Fund, you’ll help select a focus area for the year, review grant applications, and recommend funding to support projects that matter to local youth. Along the way, you’ll develop valuable skills in leadership, collaboration, and civic engagement while connecting with fellow students who want to make a difference.

The first meeting of the 2026-2027 Youth Fund season will be held on August 23, 2026. Additional meeting dates throughout the year include September 27, October 25, November 22, December 13, January 24, February 28, March 28, and April 25.

Whether you’re passionate about helping others, interested in leadership, or looking for a way to have a voice in your community, the Youth Fund is a place where your ideas can make an impact.
