Why do I get an "Invalid User" message when I try to create my account?

Most likely the information typed into the e-mail address or password fields does not match. Carefully re-enter the information and try again. Please contact us if you aren't successful in creating your account.

I am eligible for a renewal, but the scholarship does not appear in my list of scholarships after completing the matching questions. What do I do?

How do I attach an "official" transcript? Normally, students aren't permitted to open the envelopes.

We understand that an official transcript is typically not opened by the student. However, for our purposes, we request that you do open the transcript envelope, scan the document (preferably to a PDF) and attach it to your application.

I don't have the ability to create a scanned copy of my transcript. Can I just mail it to you?

No. Many retail mailing and office supply stores like Staples and OfficeMax can scan documents.

Can I submit my application even though my SAR won't be ready until later?

No. All required information must be attached before the application can be submitted. This includes the Student Aid Report (SAR). Questions with required information are designated by a red asterisk. *

I have used the SmarterSelect system before and already have a password. Can I use the same account information to apply for Community Foundation scholarships?

Yes, your old account information may be used to apply for Community Foundation scholarships.

I requested a recommendation from a teacher, but he/she accidentally deleted the e-mail. What do I do?

You may resend the request. Simply edit your application and click on the Re-Send Recommendation button at the end of the question. Be sure to click the Save button at the bottom of the page.
