Realizing the benefits of a permanent endowment for Huron County, a visionary group of community leaders joined forces to create The Fund for Huron County. As an affiliate of The Community Foundation of Lorain County, a local volunteer advisory committee is responsible for administering The Fund for Huron County. The Fund receives contributions, invests for maximum growth with minimum risk, and awards grants to charitable agencies providing programs for Huron County residents. Initial contributions from two private family foundations created the original asset base and additional gifts from the community-at-large are building the endowment and generating named sub-funds to provide additional resources.
The Fund is growing philanthropy in Huron County by involving people of all ages.
