Great Grant - Main Street Elyria

The staffs of the Main Street organizations across Lorain County are gearing up for a busy summer full of events that bring people back downtown.  Main Street Elyria is no exception. Main Street's purpose is to promote the downtown district by being a resource to existing and potential business owners, and bringing visitors to downtown Elyria.  Main Street Elyria is a certified Main Street program meaning that it meets the national standards four-point approach to operating:  organization, design, economic restructuring and promotion. From dinner under the stars to Cleveland Pops Concerts to Art Walks and Farmers Markets, Main Street Elyria finds unique ways to bring in visitors.  Visit www.mainstreetelyria.com/ for complete details on all of their events.

The Community Foundation has been a proud Main Street Elyria supporter since 2003.  We most recently made a grant of $10,000 in December 2010 for general operating support so that Main Street can continue its challenging work.
