The staffs of the Main Street organizations across Lorain County are gearing up for a busy summer full of events that bring people back downtown.  Main Street Elyria is no exception. Main Street's purpose is to promote the downtown district by being a resource to existing and potential business owners, and bringing visitors to downtown Elyria.  Main Street Elyria is a certified Main Street program meaning that it meets the national standards four-point approach to operating:  organization, design, economic restructuring and promotion. The Community Foundation has been a proud Main Street Elyria supporter since 2003.  We most recently made a grant of $10,000 in December 2010 for general operating support so that Main Street can continue its challenging work.
