Great Grants - Cuyahoga Valley National Park Association

Since 2006, The Community Foundation has supported the Cuyahoga Valley National Park Association’s All the Rivers Run educational program for 4th through 8th grade students. Our grant of $22,750 makes it possible for 110 fifth graders from Lorain and Elyria schools to attend the overnight camp. While at camp, students participate in many outdoor activities and are assigned the task of designing a new nature observation building for the Park Association using green building concepts. The adventure culminates in the students’ presentations of their design. For many students from these inner-city schools, this is a rare opportunity for them to experience “camp” and the great outdoors. The Community Foundation is proud to have granted over $66,000 for this project since 2006.
