The Women's Fund

March is Women's History Month, so it seemed fitting to feature the Community Foundation's hard-working Women's Fund. The Fund was created in 1991 by a group of women who were concerned about the lack of funding for projects specifically for women and girls.  Through hosting luncheons and recruiting other generous and compassionate women, the group was able to establish a permanent resource for these types of projects.  Over the years, they have funded agencies like Blessing House, Cornerstone for Women, the Elyria Health Department, Family Planning Services of Lorain County, and the Elyria YWCA.

Today, the Women's Fund is a vibrant and active group.  They recently hosted a very successful pajama party that benefitted Genesis House.  Look for information on the signature spring event Power of the Purse in the months to come.  The Community Foundation is proud to work with the Women's Fund as part of our efforts to provide avenues for philanthropy to all donors.
