Great Grants - the Slowik Music Institute

Slowik Music Institute, also known as Credo, is a three-week summer music camp in Oberlin for string musicians and pianists aged thirteen to twenty-two years.  The Institute is unique in that it incorporates both artistic growth and excellence with service to the community. Selected by audition, Credo students spend one day per week at the summer camp in service to others, either with their musical talents, perhaps through a free concert at a nursing home, or through physical labor like sorting and packing food at Second Harvest Food Bank.  The mission of Credo is "Develop the Gift, Acknowledge the Source, Respond in Thanksgiving through Service."

The Community Foundation is proud to have granted $2,200 to Slowik Music Institute/Credo in 2010, which provided support for their community service days.
