Gathering Hope House Supports Homeless

Imagine calling a tent your home, especially during the cold Ohio winter.  For many homeless individuals in Lorain County, this is their reality.  Gathering Hope House, a mental health recovery center, is in its second year of outreach specifically to the homeless.  In 2008, GHH served 76 individuals through this program, offering mental health treatment, temporary shelter, and addressing their safety concerns.  The Community Foundation was proud to support this project with a grant of $26,881 in December of 2009.

May is Mental Health Month.  For more information on how you can help those coping with emotional issues and homelessness, contact Gathering Hope House at 440.233.7400.
