Believe - a Word for our Times

We hear the word "Believe" quite frequently during the holiday season, whether it's referring to a wide-eyed child waiting for a visit from St. Nick or an increase in our feelings of goodwill for fellow men.  Here at The Community Foundation, "Believe" has a special meaning to us this year.

Building community through philanthropy is a slow process, especially in these challenging economic times, but we work each day trusting that our plans, our strategies, our processes are making a difference.  We believe in the power of giving, whether that is through dollars or talents.  We thank our donors for believing and choosing us.  And we thank you for your interest and trust in The Community Foundation of Lorain County.

This holiday season, believe in a brighter future for our community.  Enjoy your time with family and friends.  No matter what holiday you observe during this time of year, Christmas, Hanukkah, or Kwanzaa, the sentiment that  Dr. Seuss expresses really applies to all:

Christmas Day is in our grasp
so long as we have hands to clasp.
Christmas Day will always be
Just as long as we have we.
Welcome, Christmas, while we stand
Heart to heart,... and hand in hand.

Peace and Blessings to You and Your Family,
The Staff of The Community Foundation
